Richard Muthii, a fourth-year Software engineering student at Kisii University, invented an android application called Pawazone that connects university fraternity only.

Pawazone gained popularity in 2017 after it was launched into the market. The android application which is basically a communication platform that works like any other social media, more so facebook, has connected student and the university administrations to ensure information is all rounded.

Speaking on phone, Muthii confessed that his motivation was brought about by the hustles he had to go through to get access to information on the notice board.

"I saw an opportunity to create a platform where comrades could interact and share. The main plan was to have a platform where comrades could access communication and read notices and memos online without necessarily having to visit the noticeboard," he said.

Pawazone has the best way to filter out non-university students as it requires a valid registration number to sign up.

"You have to use a valid registration number to sign in, therefore, when information is sent out on this app, only the target audience will get the message," Muthii said.

The 21-year-old CEO has the changed life among the comrades as they can interact freely without the fear of outsiders. One cannot create pseudo accounts in Pawazone, unlike other social media platforms which make information legal and legit.

James Karanja, a student in the university, has been using the application since 2017 and admitted that Pawazone has been one of the best platforms to send out information to the student without the fear of a wrong audience.

However, in his journey, he has faced various challenges including investing his time and efforts in daily updates to ensure the application is always stable for the interests of its users.

"I have to always ensure the application is stable at all times. Balancing between being a young CEO and a student need discipline,' he concluded.
