Speaking during a bullfighting event at the Malinya Stadium on Monday, a group of leaders led by Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen said that the attempts are futile.

He said that the individuals trying to sow discord within the party will not realize their evil plan, likening it to Lucky Dube's 'nobody can stop reggae' track.

The Elgeyo Marakwet Senator said that the nation is ready for a new leadership under a son of a peasant and away from the attempted comeback by  political dynasties.

"The next election will be a defining moment when Kenya will be ruled by a son of a local farmer who was never in government leadership,” he said, according to the Nation.

His remarks can be traced back to last week's happenings where Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe and party Secretary General Raphael Tuju indicated that Ruto might not be a Jubilee candidate in 2022 after all.

Murkomen who doubles up as a very close ally to Ruto said that the forces are out to kill the unity between Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta established before their 2013 win.

He termed them detractors who don't deserve any attention.

“Some people don’t just like seeing Kenyans coming together and staying peacefully. They will formulate stories and theories to cause hatred.

But we understand their game and we shall not dance to their tune because we have our eyes on the ball," he added.

Ruto was also present for the event, among a host of many other regional leaders.
