It has now emerged that Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang' Nyong'o never set foot in the office previously used by his predecessor Jack Ranguma.
Nyong'o who is expected to open a new governor's office next week has been operating at the state owned Prosperity House's second floor ever since he assumed office after the August 8th general election.
The governor occupied the building's second floor despite the existence of a well furnished office at the Ninth Floor previously used by Ranguma.
According to the county Communications Director Alloyce Ager, Nyong'o found comfort in Second Floor as Prosperity House does not have an efficient elevator service to serve thousands of county residents seeking for help at the governor's office.
Nyong'o who today welcomed First Lady Margaret Kenyatta to the county is set to officially launch a new governor's office located at the Kisumu City Hall next week.
The office is situated at the ground floor. According to the county chief, his decision to operate at the establishment's ground floor is meant to ease access to where he seats.
The new office is complete with state-of-the-art furniture and when he inspected it recently, he said: "The office is good and precious enough. But I am not happy with this expensive furniture."
City Hall is where most critical County operations are run from.
