A man in Naivasha was killed on Sunday for allegedly molesting a nine-year-old boy sexually and later killed him.
The boy who took food to masons near Kinamba estate in Naivasha went missing on Saturday afternoon. He later killed the boy and hiding his body under his bed.
An angry crowd headed to the man's family house where they torched it as police helplessly looked on.
His efforts to stop the angry residents from torching the house further angered the crowd which pounced on him and lynched him.
"The suspect was lynched after he attempted to stop them from torching his family's house,” reports the Nairobian.
The suspect's mother also found herself on the wrong end as she tried to save her son. She, too, was given a dog's beating by the angry mob before police rescued her.
Reports have it that such incidences have become rampant in the area. The residents have called on the police to act on the situation.
Police have since started investigations into the matter.
