Speaking on Tuesday, Juma claimed that the party has deployed questionably large amounts of funds in campaigns, to help it defend the seat, which is quite suspicious.

He raised concerns that the monies could be from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) kitty, adding that Karan could be receiving similar financial support from his fellow MPs.

"Mpinzani wangu amemwaga pesa sana ambazo hatuelewi zimetoka wapi. Nashuku huenda zikawa zile za maendeleo.

(He is using too much money whose source is questionable).

The Grand Dream Development Party (GDDP) candidate was speaking on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha show Tuesday morning.

He noted that he has since raised the issue with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and is hoping for action, a day to the close of the campaign window.

Juma alias 'DJ' stressed on the need for IEBC to hold the relevant persons accountable in the event that public money was used.

"Tumeripoti hili jambo kwa IEBC na tunatumai hatua itachukuliwa," Juma said.

(We have reported the issue to the IEBC and hope that action will be taken).

The by election is set for April 5.
