Gor Mahia FC, the defending champions of the Sportpesa cup have been eliminated from the 2019 championship in Tanzania,
The reigning Kenya premier League Champions were eliminated on post match penalties by Tanzania's Mbao FC.
The first half ended in a 0-0 scoreline as Gor Mahia manager decided to field a "weakened" team for the game.
In the second half, Gor Mahia went ahead through a penalty kick that was taken by Dennis Oliech in the 51st minute.
The former champions continued to be the better side but never really made clear cut chances.
At the 76th minute, Mbao FC leveled the scoreline after working out a corner.
Mbao FC maintained defended well ensuring that the game went to penalties.
Gor Mahia missed two of their penalties while Mbao missed only one winning the match 5-4 on aggregate.
