Former Subukia lawmaker Koigi wa Wamwere wants President Uhuru Kenyatta to reorganize his government if he wishes to leave a legacy.
This comes at a time when President Uhuru Kenyatta is said to have plans of including figures from the opposition in line with the spirit of the Building Bridges Initiative.
Speaking on Radio Sauti ya Mwananchi's 'Cheche' Saturday evening, Koigi urged the President to ensure the exclusion of corrupt and tribal nominees.
"Vigezo vinavyofaa kuzingatiwa ni kama ufisadi. Mtu aliyetajwa kwa ufisadi asichaguliwe (people implicated in graft must not be considered)," Koigi said.
"Kama mtu amepatikana akiendeleza ukabila ama ameunda vyama vya kikabila pia yeye asichaguliwe (tribal individuals, including leaders of tribal outfits must also be left out)," he added.
The former legislator also advised the head of state to ensure that the nominees pass the ethics test.
"Lazima tuwe na watu waadilifu. Inatisha watu wasio na maadili wanapoteuliwa kakatika afisi za serikali (we also need ethical individuals)," he said.
The anticipated changes are most likely the outcome of Uhuru's March 9 reconciliation with opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Odinga has, however, since denied any knowledge of reorganisation of the government, denying meeting the President secretly to rearrange top appointments.
