Migori County cabinet ministers should not allow criminal charges facing Governor Okoth Obado destruct them from executing their mandate.
In a three-hour tense meeting held at the Governor's boardroom and chaired by the county boss, Obado challenged his team to diligently work for the people and deliver their mandate.
"Allow me to handle my personal matters in court. The case should not derail our agenda for the people. Let us work diligently for the people," Obado reportedly said.
He added: "We need to open more markets, pump clean water and equip our hospitals. That is what we were put in office for."
The Monday meeting was the first in over one month since Mr. Obado has been in Industrial Area prison where he was locked in connection to Sharon Otieno's murder.
Outside the building, Obado challenged junior workers to work diligently and help him cement his legacy.
“I am very happy to meet you today, I urge you to be very courageous and diligent in your work as always," he reportedly told them.
For now, Obado will use his Migori rented apartment since he will not be able to access his Uriri home after the restrictions imposed by the court as part of conditions for his Sh5 million bail.
