The head of state, who lost his cool, said the government is not ready to work with contractors who cannot keep their promises.

He said the firm has been working on the project for more than 3 years.

“There is someone who was given the contract to supply water from Kiambeere to Tseikuru. It has been more than three years and only three percent of the project is complete,” Uhuru said.

The President said it was evident that the project's contractor had proven beyond reasonable doubt that he was not ready to complete the tasks.

He ordered that the contractor be replaced with immediate effect.

Uhuru said his government is not ready to tolerate rogue contractors at the common mwananchi's expense.

"I see that he is incapable of completing the work, I direct that he be replaced by a contractor who will deliver so that residents can get water," Uhuru said.

During the ceremony, Uhuru also maintained that his government will continue borrowing funds from different nations including China to complete its development projects.

Deputy President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga were among those who attended the burial.
