Speaking to the Citizen Digital on Sunday, the county chief faulted the government for over depending on education but not providing jobs.

He now wants the state to establish other industries that can accommodate the young people, most of whom end up jobless and idle once about of school.

This way, he added, the nation will manage to tap in skills from young people who might have not succeeded in securing jobs after graduating.

"If we take them to school and they get their good papers, then they come and put those papers in their stores and suitcases without giving them work to do, we will be spoiling our own country," he advised.

He stressed on the need for Kenyans and all stakeholders to join their heads in pushing for the realization of the same.

"We need to think strategically as a country to see to it that we bring in industries that can absorb our youth into meaningful employment” said the county boss.

This comes at a time when the level of unemployment seems to be increasing in the nation considering that the youth form the largest portion of the Kenyan population.
