Kisii County Women representative Janet Ong'era on Friday issued Shs 2 million to youths and people living with disabilities at her offices in Kisii town.
The lawmaker said she is determined to empower youths and disabled persons as was her campaign promise during the 2017 polls.
"I don't wish to be criticized in 2022 over poor service. I will continue empowering youths, women and disabled persons so that they can start small businesses to uplift their living standards," she stated.
According to her, most youths have ventured into drug abuse because they are idle in villages even after graduating from school.
"Despite the fact that our youths are graduates, they have turned to be useless at home smoking bhang and abusing other drug substances. As a woman and a mother, I will not allow youths to continue being useless in villages," she said.
She promised to add more funds to boost their living standards and enable them to support themselves henceforth.
"I'm going to allocate more Action Affirmative funds to youth groups and disabled persons groups to enable them to start small projects to boost their living standards," she added.
She vowed never to listen to her political rivals who are suffering in the political cold.
"2022 is far therefore, I'm not going to engage my rivals anymore," she stated.
