President Uhuru Kenyatta's impending trip to Nyamira has caused jitters among the locals with some questioning the motive behind the visit.
North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko revealed Uhuru's trip scheduled January 23rd for two days in Gusii region where he will be hosted by Raila Odinga.
"The president will visit on January 23rd for two days. He will be launching various projects but before that, he will meet local leadership," he said.
At Kisii, Uhuru is expected to launch Oncology Center that was built by the county government with the help of the central government that is under him.
But for Nyamira, residents believe that there is no existing project the president can launch, with now some blaming Governor John Nyagarama of incompetence.
"He is free to come and launch the fifty cabbages. There is nothing new around. I encourage him to visit the governor's residences and encourage him to plant more cabbages," said Sam Omosa.
Nick Kibeni added: "The fifty cabbages are available for launching. He shouldn't worry. Our governor is doing a fantastic job."
Last month, a photo of Nyagarama taking around his Siaya counterpart Amoth Rasanga went viral with a section of residents accusing him of ignorance and maladministration.
In the photo, the governor is seen taking Rasanga through his small garden with residents interpreting it as a mega project in the recent past.
