On Thursday, Council of Governors Chief Executive Jackline Mogeni thanked Prof Kibwana along with his Nyandarua counterpart Francis Kimemia having been given Unqualified opinion by the Auditor General.

"Congratulations to @governorkibwana @F_Kimemia and by Extension the County Governments of Makueni and Nyandarua for receiving a clean audit report by the Auditor General," wrote Mrs Mogeni.

Unqualified opinion or report is a term used to refer to pay in management of resources. It shows that the county was able to account for all expenditures during auditing.

And Kibwana, whose leadership has thrilled Kenyans, says it wouldn't have been easy were it not cooperation by his officers and the county assembly.

"I have learned with lots of gratitude that Makueni & Nyandarua earned an UNQUALIFIED/CLEAN AUDIT from Auditor General in FY 2017/18.I specially appreciate MARY KIMANZI, Makueni county Finance CEC and her entire finance team together with the entire county executive &Assembly," he tweeted.

Several counties received qualified opinion (some expenditure not supported) with others getting Adverse opinion (several expenditures couldn't be supported) while others got a disclaimer.

Also, Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen lauded his colleague Mutuka Kilonzo Jr for working closely with his governor to achieve the results. It was the first time counties got a clean bill of health in expenditure.
