Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has succumbed to pressure over 2022 succession talks.
Maangi said he can't associate or engage himself to local leaders eyeing the county's top seat in 2022 because it is too early.
"I am not willing to talk about 2022 politics yet I have constructive things I should do. Those talking about 2022 succession politics are idlers, desperate only interested in seeking relevance where it can't be found," said Maangi in Kisii town on Thursday.
The Deputy Governor maintained that he is committed to ensuring his boss Governor James Ongwae is delivering as by the campaign promises made to the electorates during the last year's polls.
"I don't want locals to throw stones at me when our government hasn't delivered on our promise. I am working hard to ensure the campaign pledges are met without delay," he added.
Maangi warned residents against listening to desperate, confused local leaders who are in the political cold.
"Members of the public need to shun lazy leaders who have nothing to do. 2022 is far for succession to take a centre stage. After all the electorates will decide when the time comes who will be the next governor, MP, senator and MCA," he stated.
