PS Karanja Kibicho is no stranger to political controversy. The career civil servant has many enemies in the political world who have publicly took him on over his real or imagined exploits.

His critics see him as a proponent of the establishment and the status quo, who operates and pulls strings behind the scenes.

Here are some of the controversies that he's been involved in:1. Purchase of property in UgandaIn 2018, the Interior Principal Secretary was summoned by members of parliament to field questions regarding his purchase of  Sh650 million property in neighbouring Uganda.The property was procured in the year 2014.

Legislators wanted him to answer why he went for the higher bid instead of the lower bid.

2. Spat with Governor Sonko

In 2018, Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko was embroiled in a vicious war of words with the PS.

Sonko sensationally claimed that a plan hatched by Kibicho to assassinate him was afoot.

He said that the PS was actively involved in efforts to undermine his administration.

3. Kieleweke controversy

Ruto allies have accused the PS of being the brainchild of the so-called Kieleweke movement.

Kapseret Member of Parliament contented last month that KIbicho was the sponsor of the outfit.

Sudi said he was doing some research on Kibicho and would release a dossier on the PS soon.

4. Alleged spat with DP Ruto

The PS is said to have been confronted by Deputy President Dr William Ruto for asking Turkana's county commissioner and his juniors to boycott the DP's functions in the county.

Kibicho is said to have been taken aback by that confrontation.
