President Uhuru Kenyatta’s grip on Jubilee party could be complicated by ongoing conflicts within the country’s largest party.
Besides differences in fight against graft, early campaigns and supposed witch-hunt from OP, the ongoing Mau evictions have even escalated the issue.
At Mau on Saturday, leaders allied to DP William Ruto blamed President Uhuru Kenyatta with some threatening to ditch Jubilee party.
“In Nairobi I am being fought for standing with our parents and children. I officially bow out by inviting President Uhuru to come over and make his stand known.
“The president who I campaigned for when he was being fought has not changed. If at all he has changed, I would have known. Let him come and declare his stand,” said Kipchumba Murkomen.
Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot openly accused Uhuru of use and dump politics, recalling the president’s tour in Mau summit during 2017 polls.
“It seems that our people matter only during elections. Now that the polls are over, they no longer matter. The president even came and made a pledge not far from here. I wonder why the inhumane evictions,” he said.
Other leaders who spoken included Emurua Dikir MP Johanna Ng’eno who vowed to ensure those with genuine Tittle Deeds are not victimized.
