The second term county boss said the Head of State, who is completing his second and final term in office, deserves credit for the efforts he is making to transform this nation.

He noted that the president has set a good pace as he seeks to leave behind a legacy when his reign ends.

“All in all it was an encouraging speech and it has shown the resolve the President has for transforming Kenya. He is setting a good foundation so that I can take over in 2022 because Kenya needs a President they can trust,” he tweeted.

Mutua, who has hinted at contesting for the nation’s top seat, also said that Uhuru has the will of the Kenyan people at heart.

He described President Kenyatta's speech as unifying and promised to stand with him to slay the dragon of corruption.

“His speech was unifying and showed the importance of us as a people pulling together. But even as we unite, people are tired of being broke. Kenyans need money in their pockets,” he added.

Mutua has been calling for a lifestyle audit since he entered into office.
