Ruto gifted the Archbishop the Mitsubishi Pajero during his installation at the Uzima Grounds on January 12, an event that was also attended by opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking in Nyeri on Saturday Anyolo said that he has since given away the car to a needy institution and is using a Land Cruiser V8 given to him by faithful on the same day.

"The institution where I donated the Pajero is free to sell the vehicle and use proceeds from the sale to better the society," he was quoted by the Citizen Digital via E-Daily.

He further urged the state to cease disposing uncollected vehicles at the Port of Mombasa and instead sell them off to bring the nation some revenue.

"I also urge the government to convert vehicles impounded at the Mombasa Port into money, which would be used to improve the welfare of the needy. The State currently disposes of vehicles whose owners are unable to raise the importation tax,” added the cleric.

Ruto's gift is estimated to cost about Shs 4 million.
