Billionaire businessman Zedekia Kiprop Bundotich is among several individuals that have landed state jobs in the recent appointments made by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Buzeki lost to Jackson Mandago in the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial contest during the August 2017 general elections.’He had vied for the seat as an independent candidate after losing to Mandago during the Jubilee party primaries.
The businessman with interests in the transport sector will now chair the Chemilil Sugar Company Limited Board.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (a) of the State Corporation Act, I, Uhuru Kenyatta, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defense Forces of Kenya appoint Zedekiah Bundotich to be the Chairman of the Board of Chemilil Sugar Company Limited…” reads part of the Gazette notice dated September 20, 2018.

Buzeki will serve in the position for three years.
This is even as he prepares for a second shot at the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat.
With Mandago retiring, Buzeki has been seen as a front-runner in the 2022 race.
He is considered a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto but he recently dismissed widespread claims that he was being fronted by the DP to unseat Mandago in the hotly contested 2017 poll.
