1. Athletics prowess
Our athletes have broken more world records than any other nation. In 2016, Kenyan athletes won 70 percent of all major city marathons that were organised across the world.
2.Rugby Sevens
We are now dominating the rugby sevens. Kenya has just emerged second overall in the international Vancouver series, only falling behind Fiji but managed to beat giants such as England, Spain, Australia etc.
3. Political resilience
Over the last ten years, the country's political situation has been on close watch by millions from across the world. However, since 2013. Kenya has made tremendous progress in its political landscape as seen on March 9 when President Uhuru Kenyatta shook hands with opposition leader Raila Odinga and the country stabilised in political and economic spheres.
4. Bagged prestigious awards
There a number of Kenyans who have won international awards for their outstanding work in various sectors. Key among them is the late Professor Wangari Maathai who won the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize.
The first African to win an Oscar for the best-supporting-actress is our very own actor Lupita Nyongo. She was also the lead actress in the just-released epic movie Black Panther which broke the record at the US Box Office.
5. Beautiful sceneries and wildlife
The wild beast migration at the Maasai Mara, a Kenyan phenomenon, was added as the eighth wonder of the world a couple of years ago.
6. Great academicians
The only living novelist who has experienced the greatest misses in the award of the Nobel Prize for literature is our very own professor Ngugi Wa Thiong'o. He has been the bookmakers favourite for five years.
7. Innovators of technology
M-Pesa, a Kenyan innovation is changing lives in the country and this has spread to other countries in the African continent.
