The form four student at Ngere Boys was allegedly found in possession of 2 litres of petrol.

It is alleged that the petrol was to be used to burn down the school dormitory.

New Kisumu County Police Commander Job Boronjo confirmed receiving a brief of the student being found in possession of the petrol, but said investigations are on-going.

“As at now investigations are still on. I cannot authoritatively tell you the name of the student and the circumstances under which he was found with petrol in school,” the police boss told a Hivisasa writer.

This comes shortly after five students were arraigned in court and charged in connection with the fire that gutted down two dormitories at the Chulaimbo Boys Secondary School in Kisumu West Constituency on Saturday night.

The Five appeared before Maseno Senior Principal Magistrate Reuben Kipng’eno on Monday.

They were jointly charged with burning two dormitories at the school, namely Omino and Owira that were serving 300 students.

The court was told that the accused willfully and unlawfully set on fire the two dormitories valued at Sh5 million.
