Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiangi recently expressed his remorse, displeasure and discontent by the manner with which the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has been running.
He regretted the floppy NTSA operations which have seen Kenyans falling prey to the cloning and duplication of number plates.
His move to address the transport menace has caught the eye of Dr. Alutalala Mukhwana, a top Kenyan lawyer and former Amani National Congress Party (ANC) commissioner.
Alutalala raised concern over the role of the Transport CS James Macharia under whose docket NTSA falls.
In Alutalala's view, Matiang'i seems to have taken over the entity from the hands of CS Macharia after the collapse of integrity pillars at the authority.
"When a fellow CS takes over a department under your Ministry and has this to say, what do you feel CS James Macharia?"paused Alutalala.
He reacted to the move by the Interior CS Matiangi holding meeting with the NTSA Executive committee on February 5, 2019 in which Matiang'i said he regrets the recent happenings at NTSA.
"I regret the improprieties we have been witnessing at NTSA, most recently, the cloning of car number plates and irregular registration of vehicles," Matiangi said earlier on Tuesday.
