Former Rongai MP Willy Komen is dead.
The three times MP in different constituencies died on Saturday night at a Nakuru Hospital.
According to his son Kibet Komen, the veteran politician died of cancer-related ailments and will be remembered as an astute politician.
He had political ties with the founding President Jomo Kenyatta and his predecessor Daniel Moi in the late 60's and early '80s subsequently.
Willam Kiprop Komen popularly known as Willy Komen served as a Member of Parliament in 1969-74 in Molo (Presently, Nakuru Town West, Njoro and Molo).
He bounced back at the 1967 by-election after Mark Mwithaga was arrested by President Kenyatta.
In 1969 he opted out of the election to pave was for Mark Mwithaga who was elected in prison.
In 1992-97 Willy Komen vied in Rongai Constituency after Eric Bomett and served as Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Labor.
