An elected Member of Parliament from the Gusii community has dismissed his political opponents terming them as confused.
Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati argued that he hails from Gusii region despite him representing Dagoretti North electorates at the National Assembly.
"My confused rivals should stop panicking early because 2022 is far away. I am committed to representing the community as a spokesman and no one is going to change that since I fit to serve in that capacity," he said on Saturday at Ogembo in Kisii County.
Arati dismissed claims that he disrupted a burial ceremony for Kisii Woman Representative Janet Ong'era's brother on Friday.
He blamed his rivals for the chaos that erupted at the burial.
"I went to condole with the MP's family but my rivals who are in a panic tried to block me leading my supporters to cause mayhem. I am appealing to rivals to wait until 2022 general elections," he added.
The vocal ODM lawmaker insisted that elected leaders should focus on serving the electorates efficiently and diligently.
"Leaders more especially those who are in office must dedicate their time to work to boost the lives of our people," said Arati.
