Controversial female artist Esther Akoth, famously known has Akothee has come out telling off her critics including the Kenya Film Classification Board CEO Ezekiel Mutua.
The singer has been a subject on the online discussion after she posted controversial photos from her performance in a show on Saturday 16th February 2019.
In a response to her critics, Akothee made it clear she is not paid to be anyone's role model rubbishing claims by a section of critics who were on her neck claiming she was misleading the young generation of girls during a phone call with Radio Jambo.
In her response to the Kenya Film and Classification Board CEO Dr Ezekiel Mutua, the artist told him that whatever she does is a talent and the government should focus on nurturing talents not ask him to be a role model to anyone's kid.
"What did he say? Kenya has got!!! Kenya has got talent..stop it there. Kenya has got talent, all we want is people like Ezekiel Mutua to nurture that talent and promote artistes PERIOD!!!!," responded the artist.
She added that she has her own kids and parents who don't complain of what she is doing and that's enough for her.
"I am not a role model for anybody. Is the government paying me to be a role model for anybody's daughter? Noooo. My mother is a role model She is not opening her legs for anybody. She was a teacher. If the government wants me to be a role model let them pay me okay?" Akothee responded on claims she is misleading young girls.
Akothee said she was paid to do what she did and even challenged Dr Ezekiel Mutua or any other person to take her to court if he feels he did something wrong.
"I was paid to do that and I was actually paid in Euros. Anyone who feels offended should summon me in court. I’m not sorry."
