It's alleged that the principal of the school John Kyalo who refused to talk to the press concerning a missing student incited the girls to attack the journalists.

Their vehicle was also burnt during the incident.

Speaking in Eldoret town on Tuesday, Bishop Kurui termed the incident as uncalled for and a big blow to the freedom of the press.

“I want to condemn the act with the strongest terms possible, journalist mean no harm since their role is to give information. Stern actions should be taken against the principal,” he said.

The clergy also wondered why a principal who is looked upon as a role model can incite students to get involved in criminal activity.

“I call upon the police to expedite investigations into the unfortunate incident and bring the culprits to book. The principal should be interdicted while investigations are underway,” noted Kurui.

Police have already arrested the principal even as investigations into the incident continue.
