Kenyan social media users expressed their reactions towards Citizen TV journalist Hussein Mohamed as he hosted his last show on Tuesday evening. In his last bulletin where he was bid goodbye by his colleagues, Hussein interviewed National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi and his Senate Majority Leader counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen.
The Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) took the opportunity to shower the news anchor, who has been working with Citizen TV for 10 years, with praise. The netizens appreciate the journalist for being neutral, unbiased, responsible and credible when it came to conducting interviews. According to the netizens, it was rare to get a bold journalist like Hussein in this era of journalism.
A section of the netizens hoped that this will not be the last time that they are seeing Hussein on TV. They argued that it was too early for the journalist to retire and therefore he should take a break and make a comeback instead of leaving the media industry.
Hussein Mohamed was also credited for creating a a positive change in political journalism. They pointed out that his character as a journalist is something that should be emulated.
Hussein Mohamed has hosted some of the top politicians in the country including the deputy president William Ruto.
