The CS, while appearing before the the Parliamentary committee on Environment and Natural Resources on Tuesday, attributed his outburst that attracted robust condemnations from Kenyans to bodily emotions.

He further regretted dragging the President's name into his woes.

“I regret I did that outburst, it was out of pain that I am being let down by my system. I do regret dragging the president’s name,” said Balala.

Pressed to demystify his statement by the committee members, the CS regrettably apologised and made it clear that he was not only accountable to the President but also to all Kenyans.

The visibly agitated CS on Monday told off the individuals who were calling his firing following the mysterious death of 10 Rhinos , maintaining that he has the capacity to serve the docket and was only accountable to the president who bestowed him the portfolio.

“Nobody has appointed me. It is only President Uhuru Kenyatta who has appointed me. So, they can go to hell. I can tell them that… Uhuru Kenyatta is the only one who has appointed me here and he knows I have the capacity to run the wildlife docket. Nobody is going to intimidate me,” he said.
