West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi has questioned Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's political stand ahead of 2022.
This is after Joho on Thursday told Citizen TV during an interview that his ambition to vie for the presidency in 2022 will not in any way affect his cordial relationship with opposition leader Raila Odinga.
The Mombasa County boss noted that in the event Raila decides to vie for the top seat in 2022, they will discuss and deliberate on the issue without falling out as would be expected.
However, Kemosi said the opposition may find it difficult to clinch the presidency if the coalition will not agree on one candidate.
"We have heard several leaders in the opposition who have declared interest to vie for presidency in 2022. Opposition may end up losing in 2022 because there will be several candidates vying for the top seat in 2022 from the opposition coalition," he said.
The Ford Kenya MP said Joho's relationship with Raila will be put to test should Raila decide to vie in 2022.
"Joho should stop his quick plans ahead of the 2022. The opposition should produce a strong candidate to vie against DP Ruto who will represent Jubilee party," he added.
Kemosi observed that opposition's failure to plan properly will give Jubilee Party another clean shot at the presidency.
