Addressing media in the area on Thursday, the locals said mismanagement of the project has seen them go for over two weeks without water.

They claim a section of individuals within the committee that was tasked with the responsibility of managing the project has turned greedy leading to the suffering of the locals who have to travel a long distance in search of water for their domestic use.

The angered locals are now calling on elected leaders among them MCA and Bahati Legislator Onesmus Kimani Ngunjiri to step in and ensure the committee is disbanded.

“The committee that was mandated with the management of the project has turned to be corrupt and we are calling on our leaders to intervene and ensure the committee is disbanded so that we can rectify this,” said the locals.

According to the locals, the electricity bill for pumping the water has accumulated to over Sh175, 000 due to poor management of the project.

However, Bahati Legislator Onesmus Kimani Ngunjiri through NGCDF representative Collins Oduor informed the locals that the matter was on the table and would be addressed urgently.

He called on the locals to be patient adding that the office of the MP is committed to ensuring service delivery to the people.
