Police in Makueni have launched a manhunt for a gang that killed a watchman after breaking into a night club in Kambu area on Monday.
Confirming the incident, Kibwezi police boss Ben Chagulo said the crime took place in wee hours of the fateful night.
Chagulo said armed with crude weapons, the gang struck at night killing the night guard and injuring another worker.
"They came in the wee hours of Monday night with an intention to steal. They killed the watchman and injured the manager," Chagulo said.
He spoke to this writer on the Phone on Tuesday.
Chagulo said the culprits stole club equipment and Sh2,000.
"They made away with just Sh2,000 and some equipment belonging to the club," he said.
He said police will not leave any stone unturned until the perpetrators are brought to book.
"We will search in every nook and cranny until we catch them, they should know that the long arm of the law is unavoidable," Chagulo said.
Chagulo urged the residents to work together with security agents to avoid insecurity.
The incident occured barely a month since another watchman was killed by thugs in the same area.
