Speaking on Tuesday morning in NTV's AmLive show, Midiwo said in as much as Atwoli is a trade unionist, he has no power to dictate who should be on the ballot and should not.

"I disagree with Atwoli for name calling... I disagree that somebody should take away Ruto's chance to be on the ballot," he said.

He noted that dirty politics is ruining the country from the onset while the Jubilee government which according to Midiwo, got into power through 'stealing' of votes, has not yet delivered its manifesto to the people.

He, however, said that Atwoli has a constitutional right and freedom for expression.

The former vocal legislator added that Kenya is a democratic country guarded by the rule of law and the constitution which entitles anyone to vie for any elective post unless convicted or suspended by the law.

Midiwo who was one time touted as the Jubilee government' mole' was trounced by Elisha Odhiambo in the 2017 general elections.
