Residents of Kiwanja area in Roysambu constituency, Nairobi are contending with being in the dark since Monday with little hopes of something being done to address the situation.
Normally, a power outage in the area has never gone for more than 12 hours but this time around, it has been more than 36 hours.
Businesses that depend on the electricity have had to incur losses following power outage and the few who have backup generators have had to spend more on fuel.
Kenya Power and Lightning Company while responding to the issue confirmed that there is a fault with the area's power.
Interestingly though, one of the staff, when contacted on Wednesday over the issue, asked to be "facilitated with transport" to rectify the fault.
He said that being a holiday, he is off duty, the more the reason he asked for "something small to facilitate his transport".
