The call follows reports of the heavily biting hunger which has struck the Rift valley parts and North Eastern Kenya with scores of Kenyans reported to have passed away due to lack of food, water and other basic and social amenities.

Taking to his twitter handle, blogger Alai said, the head of state should fire the two due to their failure to properly manage disasters in the country.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta kindly fire the head of National Disaster Management,

"Fire the head of National Irrigation board too," he Tweeted.

He added that the National Disaster Management and the Irrigation Board have not been innovative enough to alleviate poverty and secure Kenyans' lives.

"They are not innovative enough," he added

Reports indicated that Kenyans have lost their lives in Turkana County due to lack of food in the past two weeks which has kept the government on toes to a point of disowning such reports with the Deputy President saying on Monday that no Kenyan died as a result of hunger.
