Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja on Saturday made a surprising decision while at a church in Roysambu, Nairobi, when he donated Sh50,000 in cash to a man, said to have been dumped by his girlfriend days to their wedding for being broke.
Sakaja at the same time promised to surrender his personal car during the man's wedding to carry the couple as he moved to console the man who was heartbroken.
The youthful guy who was in the same church as the senator is said to have found new love and their wedding is in the offing.
According to KTN News, the man whose name was not readily available was dumped about a week to their wedding with his wife to be after he failed to raise 'enough' money for the celebratory event that was slated to take place at a low-scale suburb in Kasarani along the Thika Superhighway.
"I have heard a story that has really touched me here," Sakaja in a video posted by KTN News on Twitter is heard saying.
"There is that gentleman who has been rejected. He is ours. If she rejected you, we will not reject you. We have accepted you. On your wedding day, you will travel inside my official car."
Apart from Sakaja's contribution, a cleric who was present during the church service promised to find a job for the man.
Sakaja at the same time promised that he would pay Sh15,000 every month to the youthful guy for upkeep.
