Once a well organized campaign team by DP William Ruto in Nyanza is now embroiled in internal wrangles that threatens their master's 2022 game plan, it has emerged.
For months now, Ruto has invested in Nyamira and Kisii Counties which have traditionally voted for Raila Odinga.
And a tussle between veteran politicians and youthful campaign team has intensified internal rebellion that has seen some influencial politicians pull out.
In the team, Ruto had shown confidence in South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro, youth leader Antony Kibagendi and North Mugirango's Joash Nyamoko.
Others in Ruto's good books include MPs Shadrack Mose, Jerusha Momanyi, Richard Tong'i and Richard Onyonka.
But the absence of seasoned politicians among them Joseph Kiangoi, Walter Nyambati, Jimmy Angwenyi, Charles Nyachae has even made the situation worse.
"There is total paralysis and that is why you're seeing a standstill," said an insider.
He added: "The experienced politicians feels sidelined and they have been leading the rebellion. The DP is aware but he's yet to reconcile the two camps."
Also missing from the team is Solicitor General Ken Ogeto and CS Fred Matiang'i, both who played a crucial role in Jubilee's impressive score in Gusii.
However, nominated MCA George Mosiori claims that the differences are exaggerated adding that it's only divergent of opinions.
"It's just a small matter occasioned by divergent opinions. I don't think it will sabotage our plans."
In August, MPs allied to Ruto skipped discussing geopolitics when he shared podium with Raila Odinga during Henry Obwocha's burial.
Raila, who is said to be keen to contest in 2022, held closed-door meeting with Governor John Nyagarama and James Ongwae further sending mexied signals.
The region has a total of 1 million votes making is one of the most significant region in 2022 elections.
