Uhuru repeatedly vowed to pick Ruto to take after him in the run-up to the 2013 and 2017 elections, in line with the Jubilee 20-year leadership plan.

But Manyora now says that his actions during the relaunch of the Rivatex factory in Eldoret on Friday is proof that he might have had a change of heart and is having a different plan.

Citing Uhuru's silence on matters politics during the function, before his hurried departure to Nairobi immediately after the commissioning, he termed it proof that all is not well.

In addition to Uhuru's Sunday attacks on Mt Kenya leaders allied to the DP, the commentator said that it is only a matter of time before Uhuru publicly makes an anti-Ruto declaration.

"Read together with the hard words that the president had used on Sunday at Kasarani, I am tempted to believe that the president is determined to give the presidency perhaps to somebody other than William Samoei Ruto," he said.

Manyora was speaking on his weekly YouTube analysis show Take It or Leave It on Saturday morning.

He observed that Uhuru remained formal at the function despite indirect provocations by Ruto's allies to politick, proof that he never wanted to engage in political issues with the group.
