National Parents Association chair Nicholas Maiyo has call upon the ministry of education to extend high school admission dateline for the students getting admitted to join form one this year.

Candidates who sat last years’ Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination are expected to report to respective schools allocated to by 9th January 2019.

Briefing media yesterday in Eldoret, Maiyo said that the selection of the students to join various schools across the cautery have been adversely affected by irregularities including students allocated to schools inappropriate with the gender, citing one of the student from coast selected to join day school in Kisumu.

“A pupil from Mombasa was selected to join one of a day secondary school in Kisumu, how can the student manage to study as a day scholar and will the parents pay for their child’s sustenance?” Maiyo puzzled claiming that the child security will be compromised.

He noted dissatisfaction form parents from some student who got similar marks in 2018 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) were not selected to join same level of schools.

“Equality of in treatment of candidates with similar marks and similar background where some are selected to join national schools and other are not,” said Maiyo.

However, Maiyo said that parents get directives and solution from the sub county and count chair persons of the National Parents Association, thus offer guidance along with the ministry of education and solution to eminent encounters regarding to admission of the students.
