Orange Democratic Movement party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has dismissed claims by s section of local media that he's under surveillance over misuse of the party's resources.
Without mentioning his name, a local newspaper claimed the vocal official, could be kicked out in place for a 'more stable' individual to avert scenario where resources are used to facilitate officials.
But in a rebuttal, Sifuna, who admitted that the article was deliberately written to defame him, accused the paper of being used to spread gossip.
"Huyo ni mimi bro nakula pesa ya chama kumaliza 😂😂. Paid for Gossip pieces twisted and taken to tabloids like @TheStarKenya are the preserve of cowards. Mimi nina mbili kama wao. Waache kujificha kwa corridors," he wrote.https://twitter.com/edwinsifuna/status/1065544066480377856?s=19.
Sifuna's tormentors, the paper claimed, argue that he's footing his bills even when traveling to villages from the party's kitty.
Mr Sifuna replaced Senator Agnes Zani early this year as substantive Secretary General after the departure of Ababu Namwamba in a move Raila described as 'long overdue'.
"Edwin has been working with the party and I have no doubt that he's going to revamp the party in coming months," Raila said.
He's son to veteran politician Lawrence Sifuna, a member of firebrand legislators labelled 'Seven Bearded Sisters'.
