With few public appearances and dormant' social media accounts, immediate former Kisumu Central MP, now Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of East African Affairs, Ken Obura, could be the new master of political suspense in Kisumu.
Since bouncing back with a government job after losing his seat in the 2017 general election, Obura has kept his political plans under wraps, a move that signals that the youthful politician is a man to watch come the next general election.
So what is Ken Obura's political game plan going to the next general election? Is he still in the game or will his humiliating loss in 2017 force him to hang his political boots? May be he will provide answers at the right time.
For a man who took Kisumu politics in 2013 by storm with a resounding win both during ODM nominations and in the March 4 contest, Obura cannot just be written off immediately in the region's politics.
Though his fallout with ODM gave him a false start in the run to the 2017 election, the Maranda High School old boy can just go back to the drawing board and rediscover his political skills that made him one of the most promising politicians from the region. But to do that, may be suspense is his best approach to political redemption.
