Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti has called on her supporters to remain calm ahead of tomorrow's Supreme Court ruling on Governor Alfred Mutua's appeal case.
Supreme Court Judges led by Chief Justice David Maraga will make the ruling tomorrow at 9 am.
Ndeti who petitioned Mutua's victory also wants her supporters to pray for a favorable ruling.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday in Kathiani, the former lawmaker exuded confidence that the apex court judges will rule in her favor.
“We are ready for the ruling on Friday and we are confident of a favorable outcome,” Ndeti said.
Ndeti said she will accept the ruling's outcome whether favorable or not.
Ndeti and Mutua’s supporters are anxious ahead of the crucial ruling.
Mutua moved to the Supreme Court challenging the Court of Appeal ruling that nullified his victory.
In June, the appellate court nullified Mutua’s election on grounds that it was not free and fair.
The court in its ruling faulted the IEBC returning officer for using an excel spreadsheet to declare the gubernatorial results.
Mutua, however, appealed the ruling, noting that the appellate court erred in annulling his victory.
The governor through his lawyer Kioko Kilukumi, maintains that he was validly elected.
Machakos residents will go to a by-election in case the CJ Maraga led court upholds the appellate court’s ruling.
However, Mutua will continue to serve his second term if the Supreme Court dismisses the Court of Appeal ruling.
