President Uhuru Kenyatta left mourners in stitches when he indicated that none of them between himself and his deputy William Ruto would go to heaven if the world was to end today.
Kenyatta was speaking in reference to an earlier sermon that was conducted by Bishop Harrison Ng'ang'a of Christian Foundation Fellowship (CFF) who was presiding over the burial of the fallen Kikuyu secular music legend, Joseph Kamaru, on Thursday in Muthithi, Muranga County.
"When the priest was talking about the things that we need to avoid in order to go to heaven, I looked at William and told him that he cannot make it. He too looked back at me and said that I cannot also make it," Uhuru said amid a loud laughter from the mourners.
He added: "We have now resolved to stop walking on the tarmac and start using the narrow path which I am told is full of thorns."
Ng'ang'a had listed 10 things that faithful should shun if they are to go to heaven.
Among the things he listed from one of St Paul's Epistles, include alcoholism, adultery and spilling of innocent blood.
During the sermon which was aired live by all the mainstream Kikuyu TV stations, Uhuru and Ruto could be seen enjoying every moment of the preaching which the bishop had warned won't be pleasing to many people's ears.
However, this turned to be the exact opposite as mourners remained lively throughout and even cheered loudly whenever the preacher touched on something that they agreed with.
Kamaru died aged 79 years at MP Shah Hospital last week after developing breathing complications.
