Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i has been assured of full support from politicians in his native Gusii backyard.
Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka while speaking on Saturday when he addressed faithful at Mekonge SDA, Sensi ward in Kitutu Chache North said the Gusii community will stand with Matiang'i.
"On behalf of leaders from the Gusii community, I wish to confirm that we are solidly behind you as you serve Kenyans. Critics must keep off and give you humble time to deliver," said Onyonka.
He further said the CS has all it takes to be in the ballot for presidency come 2022 and vowed to mobilize leaders irrespective of their political parties to rally behind him.
"We can't be enemies for our own son. It is high time we stood with Matiang'i. As a community we are capable of producing a president like other communities," stated Onyonka.
The vocal legislator also warned politicians against divisive politics ahead of the 2022 general polls.
Present at the church function were Kisii Governor James Ongwae, Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi and Kitutu Chache North MP Jimmy Angwenyi.
