Angry riders nearly castrated a man after busting him in the act with a class 7 girl in a tea plantation.
The incident happened on Monday at Kianyabao village in West Mugirango, Nyamira County.
Edwin Nyakang'i is said to have lured the girl into the tea farm before he was caught by hawk-eyed locals.
"I spotted the girl entering the bushy tea farm alone never to come out," said Titus Okong'o adding that she never came out.
Victor Momanyi, one of the riders said they beat the suspect and almost set him ablaze before he was rescued by local officials.
"He was a bit lucky. We could have castrated him to teach others a lesson."
Area assistant chief, Benjamin Omori said the suspect was surrendered to Nyamira police station.
"Sleeping with minors is prohibited and any man caught will carry his own cross," he noted.
