Former Starehe MP aspirant Boniface Mwangi, as it is now, does not support any other Kenyan to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 except Makueni Governor Prof Kivutha Kibwana.

Mwangi in a tweet on Saturday said Kibwana who is presently ranked as a top performer among all the 47 county chiefs deserves to take over the mantle of the country's leadership after Uhuru's term ends.

He said the Makueni Governor has demonstrated his capability in transforming lives for Makueni people during his reign as Governor, therefore, he can represent the interests of Kenyans.

"Governor Kivutha Kibwana must seriously consider running for president. Kenyans of goodwill must assure Governor Kibwana that they will rise above ethnic politics and elect him. He will help reclaim Kenya from the mafia and tribal politics," Mwangi said in the Saturday morning tweet.

Kibwana is presently ranked among top performing county bosses followed by Kisumu's Prof Anyang Nyong'o.

Kibwana is on record having established a milk processing factory in Makueni as well as water purifying plant. The water plant collects dirty rainwater, cleans it up before it is bottled and sold as drinking water in the local market.

The county chief has also set up numerous Small and Medium Enterprise businesses benefiting youth and women in the Ukambani county.

Since his re-election in 2017, his flagship programme has been to roll out free healthcare for Makueni residents, a move that is in line with Uhuru's BIog Four agenda to roll out universal healthcare by 2022.
