Renowned lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has lauded Chief Justice (CJ) David Maraga and the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
On Thursday, the JSC chaired by Maraga recommended for the removal of three judges over alleged misconduct.
The JSC asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to form a tribunal to probe Justices DK Marete, Lucy Waithaka and Martin Muya.
According to the CJ Maraga led Commission, complaints against the three Judges borders on allegations of incompetence, bias, impropriety and professional misconduct.
The CJ also revealed that complaints against five magistrates accused of bribery, the disappearance of files, irregular release of files and forging of documents registered with JSC.
Ahmednasir now says the move by JSC is in the right direction in efforts to root out alleged graft in the Judiciary.
“I am glad that CJ Maraga/JSC has finally decided to address the endemic corruption that defines the Kenyan judiciary,” he tweeted on Friday.
He added that “The ball is now in H.E Uhuru’s court to appoint CREDIBLE tribunals and stop appointing JUBILEE surrogates to this important constitutional process.”
The city lawyer has in the past decried corruption in the judiciary.
In March, the flamboyant lawyer claimed that three Supreme Court Judges allegedly pocketed bribes in the Wajir gubernatorial petition.
He has since provided what he terms evidence against the three Judges to the Judicial Service Commission.
