The former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Miguna Miguna has lashed out at the police for destroying essential forensic evidence in the River Side attack in Nairobi.
Taking to his twitter account, the controversial lawyer said that the police burnt a car alleged to have been used by the terrorists who bombed Dusit D2 Hotel.
“I've seen reports claiming that the @NPSOfficial_KE has blown up vehicle KCN 340E which was allegedly used by the "terrorists" to access Dusit D2 Hotel in Nairobi. In doing so they have also blown up and destroyed essential forensic evidence for investigations. #RiversideAttack” said Miguna Miguna in a tweet.
Miguna was reacting after Nairobians were caught up in confusion regarding the incidence in 14 Riverside Drive in Nairobi’s Westlands area.
An explosion was witnessed and several gunshots heard in the air which brought anxiety and confusion among residents of this area.
The incidence that started on Tuesday afternoon is not yet clear whether it was a robbery or a terror attack.
However, Somali-based militia group, Al Shabab came out to claim responsibility of the attack.
The area has been cordoned off by the security for detailed forensic assessment as indicated by the Minister for Internal security Dr Fred Matiang'i.
