Ruto and his allies are now crying foul on what they believe is a scheme to ensure his chances of ascending to the top seat are destroyed.

Ruto has in the recent days criticized the ongoing war against graft terming it a selective narrative meant to achieve political propaganda.

“We will resist and refuse and will reject any attempt by a people to weave together a narrative using political corruption propaganda,”  the DP said.

Political observers say things within Jubilee are no longer the same and Ruto is being sidelined or targeted by a certain faction.

Speaking to the Standard, renowned political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi advised Ruto to ensure he stages a firm fight for his position as the DP.

“He should not move to the right or left, he should just stay there, he is in his position by the merit of over seven million votes, he is not an invitee,” Ngunyi said.

Dismas Mokua, another political pundit, said Ruto would shoot himself in the foot if he moved out of government.

“If he decides to quit, he may as well have kissed his presidential ambition bye, he needs to withstand all the pressure from inside,” Mokua said.
