The economist was presented to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Muthaiga for interrogation and among leaders who went there to see him were his lawyers James Orengo, Edwin Sifuna and Nelson Havi.

At the DCI entrance, however, Orengo and his colleagues met the unusual as they were barred from seeing their client.

Their blockage into the DCI angered Orengo so much that he made a short prayer before officer manning the DCI's main gate.

"It is my prayer that one day Kenya gets saved. One day, Kenya will get saved," the Siaya Senator said.

In his own words, Orengo could have meant that a day will come where Kenyans will shun tribalism, hatred and regionalism and embrace one another towards building a country that every citizen will appreciate.

That a day will come where Kenyans will confidently wake in the morning to cast votes which will determine the country's top leader without claims of rigging and that a day will come when the rule of law will reign where a few who have taught for a long time that the country belongs to them will accept the fact that Kenya belongs to the more than 45 million citizens.

On March 9th at Harambee House in Nairobi, this prayer may have as well come to pass- that two political rivals met and vowed to end their continuous wrangling.

Opposition chief Raila Odinga met President Uhuru Kenyatta and promised the nation they will work towards uniting Kenyans who came out of the August 8th poll and October 26th repeat poll sharply divided along tribal and regional lines.

Analysts are of the idea that President Uhuru Kenyatta might endorse Raila in 2022 as part of the March 9 unity pact.
