Speaking to the media in Bomet town, Omoding said fears of a possible terror attack targeting the area had been high following several high profile visit among them that of Deputy President that would attract a huge crowd.
“We have identified one suspect whose name we are withholding but I can confirm that he comes from Chepalungu and the police are cornering him down so I plead with the members of the public to be calm and aid the police with any relevant information pertaining this issue”, he said.
Even as tension was high in the Bomet county's capital, some locals challenged the government to act swiftly and deal with any element that might be out to disrupt normal business.
“We need the government to assure us our safety before we embark on our normal activities today because we have been hearing that terrorists are planning to execute an attack in Bomet county so we are unsettled,” said Ernest Lagat, a businessman in Bomet town.
However, the County Commissioner assured residents of their safety and said: "all is in control".
